Actualización: Amoeba Music, a través de su cuenta oficial en Twitter, ha declarado y confirmado la falsedad del proyecto.

Muchos hemos recibido notificación sobre una posible apertura de una franquicia de la aclamada tienda de discos Amoeba, la cual tiene sucursales en distintas ciudades de los E.E.U.U. Y, por otro lado, han surgido distintas opiniones relacionadas con la veracidad del proyecto. Bien, nosotros nos hemos dado la tarea de investigar más a fondo sobre este tema y llegamos hasta Jim Henderson, dueño de Amoeba Music quien ha confirmado que se trata de un proyecto falso y un impostor. Las palabras precisas de Jim son las siguientes:

My name is Jim Henderson, co-owner of Amoeba Music, and I can tell you that the Twitter account in question has been posted and run by an imposter. Sadly, Amoeba does not have the infrastructure to open another physical location, though Mexico City would certainly be chief amongst any considered. We are focusing on our digital download and physical fulfillment website, but will not be opening any more stores in the foreseeable future. The mexico city imposter started tweeting late last year, then disappeared, though it appears he has returned.

Please do whatever you can to discredit this entity while we seek legal action. He does not represent us, nor have any affiliation with amoeba music.

Tristemente, este tipo de proyectos falsos brindan una mala imagen a la industria de la música independiente en México. Lo sentimos mucho por quienes estaban emocionados por contar con una sucursal de Amoeba en México, a nosotros también nos emocionaba.
